Steve Woollard
After having a career of over 30 years in the Arboricultural industry, Steve joined Bawden Tree Care in 2025 as the Tree Team Manager. This means that he is responsible for all of the staff in the tree department and their work. He is also the point of contact for customers and clients, working on quoting, tendering and managing contracts. As if that wasn't enough, he also uses his experience to complete tree surveys.
Steve has enjoyed a wide range of roles in the industry, which have allowed him to have an extensive understanding of arboricultural processes. His career began in forestry before becoming a climbing arborist and then eventually starting his own business. Following on from that, he became a lecturer in Arboriculture and Forestry at Sparsholt College, which gave him the privilege of teaching and preparing hundreds of students for their own careers.
A large portion of Steve's managerial experience comes from his next two jobs. Firstly, he worked for the esteemed Longleat estate, where he wrote an estate-wide tree safety policy and developed their tree survey and management. The second job, which has had a considerable influence, is being the Arboricultural Manager for Southampton City Council.
Even though his best climbing days are behind him, he has stayed current on practical arboriculture and the technical advances in the sector. This means that he is able to provide an excellent quality of advice and guidance to clients.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family and living an active outdoor lifestyle. This includes fishing, walking, cycling and watching Arsenal on the weekends.
