Bawden Tree Care is proud to announce that we have achieved the the coveted ‘Approved Contractor’ accolade from the Arboricultural Association (AA) on the first attempt!

Bawden’s Tree Care Manager, David Abrahams, who only recently joined the company, was full of praise for the tree surgery teams: “This was a massive team effort and reflects the quality of the guys and the pride they take in their work. We are privileged to carry out tree surgery works for local authorities, the Defence Estate, and many town and parish councils across the South of England and, although they already know we always do an excellent job, ‘Approved Contractor’ status acknowledges our position amongst the top tree surgery companies in the country.”

Company Director Richard Stone sees ‘Approved Contractor’ status as crucial to furthering the company’s ambitions to build its tree surgery division: “Tree care in all its forms is very much the challenge of the day. With the increasing number of serious tree pests and diseases in the country, tree surgeons must be well trained, both to identify the cause of tree disease and then to have the practical skills to save trees where at all possible. Or, if this cannot be achieved, to ensure they are felled correctly and safely. Our existing clients rely on our teams to do the very best for their tree stock; ‘Approved Contractor’ status gives them the peace of mind that this will happen.”

Bawden Tree Care undertake work throughout Wiltshire including Devizes, Marlborough, Salisbury, and Swindon, and join a small number of Arboricultural Association Approved Contractors in the county of Wiltshire.

More about being 'Arb Approved'

Nearly 40 years ago, the AA established its Approved Contractor scheme to set the standard for tree work. The industry is not regulated by the government, despite its work caring for the largest living organisms on the planet, in some of the most hostile growing environments.

The ARB Approved Contractor scheme offers a recognised benchmark for arboricultural contracting throughout the UK and Ireland, and is increasingly required by local authorities and other large commercial organisations. The scheme also benefits the domestic sector as a quality mark, assuring the client of good quality tree care undertaken safely and efficiently.

What is an Arb Approved Contractor?

An ARB Approved Contractor (ArbAC) is a business that has been assessed by the AA, has met and continues to uphold the AA’s Standards (both the ArbAC Standard relevant to the size of the business and the AA’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct) and has paid the appropriate scheme management fee.
