The Bawden Tree Care team we asked to reduce the canopy on a mature Horse Chestnut ( Aesculus hippocastanum ), customer required the canopy to be reduced by a maximum of 30% which equated to 2 metres all around. The Horse Chestnut was protected by a TPO and therefore permission was required from the Local Authority before works could commence.
Bawden Tree Care handled the necessary application and communication with Wiltshire County Council regarding the TPO, gaining permission to complete the work as recommended. Apart from reducing the crown of the Horse Chestnut, the crown was also thinned to allow more dappled light get through to the lawns below. Also crown lifting was completed to raise the base of the canopy all around.
